peach20 for your countering03? Touya Kinomoto from CCS (from the peach deck) had his name changed to Tory Avalon in the god-awful dub version. Ah, Cardcaptors...

Ah, Cardcaptors... I've heard it's as bad as Yu-Gi-Oh, is that true?

It's worse. When the dub hit the States, the commercials tried to make it seem like Sakura isn't the protagonist but Syaoran instead (because boys can't watch shows with female protagonists, apparently) and turned the show into another Yu-Gi-Oh/Pokémon knock-off. The episode count was cut down to 39 from the original 70, and a lot of the emotional relationships got removed/downplayed significantly.

Remember how the Sailor Moon dubbers tried to remove the gay? It's exactly what happened to CCS as well. Also Kero's voice...

Sorry I got a little rant-y there. I love the show, it has a lot of nostalgic value to me, etc.

Oh dear god I didn't think anything could be worse. But that's just... that... whu... I'm speechless.

I actually liked some of the (subbed) episodes I caught so really just... what. And that voice. I don't...
