I watched the first episode of Free, by the way (I've been a smidge too busy to watch the next one). Nagisa is still adorable ♥ ...Rin is a douche. A douchey-douche-douche.

YUP... Rin's douchiness will grow worse, but he has some dere in him so... a small amount, but it's there.

I'm just looking at him like... WHY ARE YOU SUCH A BUTT. He's so unlikable haha. But for the other characters, I can put up with him xD

Rin is one of my favorite characters (although I love Rei SO much better; you'll see when you get to his intro ep -- he's a dork!), though I understand why people find him obnoxious and all.

Lmao he's your favourite?! He's so meannnnn to everybody >.> I'm only one episode in, but when he basically called Nagisa and Makoto losers and you see Nagisa's smile drop for like the first time in the whole episode, I wanted to punch Rin so much haha xD Ahh, I think I have too much of a soft spot for adorable male characters. =^.^=

Luckily Rin does go through nice character development and a change of heart eventually, otherwise he wouldn't be one of my two favorites. I usually can't stand the douchebag rival archetype to begin with, but he grew on me like a shark-toothed fungus later on, man...

Then again, Mamoru Miyano voices him and I like the seiyuu a lot, so.

Haha cool ^_^ Well, if there's a bit of a character arc going on later, then who knows, maybe I'll warm to him. I'm looking forward to Rei coming in, since he was so funny in that clip you shared from the fourth episode. Hopefully this week will be a bit quieter and I can get some more episodes in.
