Fireworks will soon be upon us for the 4th of July holiday (for those in the states) and other countries are having celebrations around this time of the year as well so no matter how you celebrate and even if you do, have fun and stay safe!

No, actually, because... I don't really read comics whoops. (It's a hold-over from when I was younger and had some bad experiences/introductions to it, but I will admit the Archie Megaman series is really starting to draw me in, I just don't have the money or chance to actually buy it)

It's just that I adore Megaman and Sonic was my childhood, so uh. MUST COLLECT ALL OF THOSE YES?


(Also the Starforce ones are less important to me because I never had any real exposure to that series beyond the random MAGICAL GIRL TRANSFORMATIONS)

Yeah, I totally understand that. I've only recently followed the comics since they started but I totally understand that honestly.

And yep, childhood things are rather grand to collect (as well as new series of course!)

(For me, it's the Legends cast. I played the first game and didn't really care for it at all. Not a huge fan of any humans other than the doctors in Classic but I'll collect the robots there.)

I'm kind of... weird, when it comes to Classic? The dubbing and everything was just so poorly done in that series that I ended up just going to the Japanese version, which is -- unsurprisingly -- much better. It's why I tend to say "Rockman" instead of "Megaman" or "Forte" instead of "Bass" unless I actively try to type the other one, since those are the names I'm familiar with (and to be honest, "Forte" fits better than "Bass" does for actual meaning, because Forte/Bass is loud and violent). If you can manage it it's really much better, especially Megaman 8. Unlike Bass' voice actor, who sounds like he's sedated, Forte's voice actor is outright yelling at the microphone half the time.

I love the Japanese voices but some of the English ones can be good. (like late-series X vocal cast is pretty much spot-on) I didn't mind the english Battle Network cast but I'm just as happy with the Japanese seiyuu as well.

The bonus of the Japanese seiyuu cast is that they stay the same for the majority of the series (unless there's had to been a cast change due to the death of an actor, which is pretty much the only reason that these actors get recast) So you have a stable cast of characters who enjoy their roles and come back time and time again.

I'd say that's a pretty good way to go about things!

It's mostly Classic and early X-era that's the problem, I think. Those games were still very early so voice acting was kind of still floundering around, so the people weren't... the best.
