Hey everyone! Welcome to the Brown Asteroid Fleet for Colors League 2015: Space Edition!




I'm your fleet commander, Arianne, and we'll be using this post as our headquarters during the league! We'll keep track of everybody's progress in the games and coordinate responses for open games as necessary. And feel free to post cool space-related sites or pictures to really keep the theme going!

League Game 3

The gist of what I'm understanding is that we basically need to form a connection with two other players in the map, and to do that, we need to navigate! Only horizontal and vertical movements are allowed per turn, and to reach a desired square we need cards with the same number and same starting letter (i.e. I would need dessert04 to move to D04, winter01/xylophone01 to move to WX01). Each person has five turns to move.

Levels (when submitting the Colors League application, not as of current) come into play! For Primary and Fruits tier (Cal, Eon, Neenee, Silvanus, me), there are no restrictions on what cards to use. For Precious and above (Arianne, Jun), the card used to move needs to fulfill an additional colour requirement - if moving horizontally, yellow, green, blue, purple, and if moving vertically, red, orange, brown, grey. (Example: Arianne needs to move vertically to D10. durandal10 fits this requirement b/c it is red for being Precious and above in terms of levels, and the number/letter matches. dog10, however, would not b/c it is green (unless if it's being used to move horizontally.)

I think the best way for us to go about it is to form a ring, like so:



If we choose a direction to take, clockwise or anti-clockwise, I think we can all post our moves without having to worry about intersecting or cutting into someone else's route!

Just suggestions, anyway! There's other ways we can discuss about this, probably. \o/

though my question is, since we can only move once at a time, how do we 'turn'? do we then like wait for another person to start moving from where we left off, or?

Okay, this looks good, it also gets us the Interplanetary Ring challenge achievement. (Yay!)

Just a couple bits of input!

- We should decide if we are doing that path clockwise or counterclockwise, probably after...

- ...we each make sure we have the cards necessary to follow the routes outlined above. If not, we'll want to either tweak the plan to something we all can do, or swap around some cards with each other so we have the moves needed.

- We each get 5 moves, so once we complete this ring I figure we can do whatever we want for our last turns.

I went to take a look at everyone's piles, here's what I can glean (with the route where people have the most cards to access).

Clockwise:

- Cal: K12, K07, N07 (kichou12, kurohigi07, missing N07)
- Jun: naming04, lessons04, liaison01 (N04, L04, L01) (brown for vertical, blue for horizontal, brown for vertical)
- Silvanus: UV01, UV02 (missing UV01, missing UV02)
- Neenee: UV07, YZ07, YZ09 (unchanging07, zauber07, missing YZ09)
- Eon: YZ13, R13, R19 (missing YZ13, righteous13, ruckus19)
- Kaede: K19, K15, C15 (kobushi19, khilbet15, counter15)

For these, I can provide neojapan07 (N07), upbringing01 (UV01), uppercut02 (UV02), zafkiel13 (YZ13) - I don't have any YZ09 cards, whoops.

Anti-clockwise:
- Arianne: kailu15, kansai19, rattata19 (K15, K19, R19) (blue for horizontal, gray for vertical, purple for horizontal)
- Kaede: R13, YZ13, YZ09 (replicant13, zafkiel13, missing YZ09)

Same here in that I can't provide a YZ09 card, but I have usu07 (UV07), upbringing01 (UV01), lemu03 (L03), calligraphy12 (C12).

I might have overlooked things or made errors, so please do point them out if you see them! It seems pretty equal whichever way we go in terms of missing cards, so to everyone else: is there a direction you prefer? (Or just choose one, b/c we might as well make a start on something.) I'm cool with clockwise, mainly b/c most of the cards we're missing there are at the end of the route rather than at the beginning.

Hey guys! We've only got a couple days left and we're looking good! Once we submit our cards for Game 2, we'll be 100% done with the open games. Awesome!! That just leaves games 5-9. We've got threads for games 5 and 7 up above, so reply to this one to let us know how you're doing with games 6, 8, and 9.

You guys have all done great so far! Let's try to finish strong!

ETA: Oh, and please make sure you've included our team name in your comments on the closed games! You won't get a point if you don't include it. They're super strict about that, so be sure to double check!

And it's over! I hope you guys had a great time playing the Colors League this year! Y'all were seriously amazing. No matter what place we end up, I know we all did our best, and that's what's important. That probably sounds kinda cheesy but it's true! Thank you so much for making my first time as captain so awesome. :)
