Blue Planet Fleet - Hangout Post

Blue Planet Fleet's been assembled, commander Trias reporting in. Here will be our base of operations for the following weeks...
Our crew is lined up...

(League badges to follow once released)
Our group shot is now complete...

...and the League is soon upon us. All the pieces have been set in place. The time for us to forge our own fate in these games has come.

Introes
Name: Trias
Favorite fandoms: I like quite many series and chances are I've at least heard of most of people's favorites, so can discuss about a pretty large variety of things, but some specific ones I get really excited about are Oregairu, Hyouka, Aikatsu, Pretty Rhythm, Atelier games, Suikoden games and varyingly trashy ecchi shows.
Favorite things you can't make a Colors deck of: I rather love Agatha Christie books and most subgenres of metal. Probably not these two at the same time, though.
Colors history: Nea plurked about this place at the beginning of the summer of 2013 and I've always had a weak spot for collecting cards in general so it wasn't very hard to convince me to join. Dragged my fiancée Dialny in behind me, unwittingly creating a monster. RL things caught up to me enough to make me spend most of the last year on hiatus, but returned to
exact revenge on A-L for winning last yearhave an another fun League....not to worry, though, I am fairly competitive in this event myself but do not intend to force this on anyone else, so if I am ever making you uncomfortable re: anything League, please mention it to me so I'll know to tone it down. Everyone having a good time should and will take predecence.
Timezone: Finland of Eastern Europe, +2 GMT.
Anything else?: If any of you are in need of cards for any of our games, my trade pile is most certainly open to help out.
...that's all I can think of at the moment, nice to meet y'all.
Re: Introes
Favourite Fandoms: Most of my longterm fandoms aren't really anime, but I'm a big fan of Sailor Moon, I love Kagerou Project as a whole, and I recently got super into Show By Rock!!. I guess I also really like Haruhi Suzumiya, Kyousougiga, and Samurai Flamenco.
Favourite things you can't make a Colors deck of: I LOOOOVE Kamen Rider and Super Sentai. Unfortunately, even though they're Japanese, they're live-action so we can't make decks of them. I guess there's some western cartoons I'd love to see decks of too.
Colors History: I joined last year, at the end of April, when I was bemoaning a lack of journal-based TCGs... and then found out this place existed! I went on hiatus in September because I started university and disappeared for the entire year, but hopefully that won't happen this time around. I wanted to join in the league last year but got a little overwhelmed with IRL stuff that was going on (mostly uni prep), so didn't do it.
Timezone: I'm in the UK, so I'm in GMT(currently +1, I guess, because it's summertime).
Anything else?: I'm going to visit some of my uni friends in a couple of weeks but we have Internet access, so I'll be able to keep up to date with everything.
I'm on plurk at

Re: Introes
Re: Introes
And I should be able to converse freely on DW comments, it's just that I tend to access the net on my phone or tablet during the day, and can only get on the computer in the evening every day or two--pasting the html for cards is just not tenable on mobile devices :/ hence activity in splurges rather than consistently.
Name: Tonko
Favourite fandoms: Well I am not as into anime as I once was, so they're all kind of old to a lot of current fans. One Piece is the only one I can say I'm in a fandom for, and nominally at that because I am like a year or more behind in the manga. Though you would not BELIEVE the amount of crappy Sailor Moon and Ranma 1/2 fanfiction I read back in the day. I'm talking "trading notepad files via diskette" back in the day. Before Fanfiction.net, back when geocities was king and people used webrings. I spent some time in Naruto fandom too until I got fed up with the series.
If you look me up by this name on FFnet or Ao3 you'll see I produced fic for Naruto and One Piece. Warning: the older it is, the cheesier it is, particularly Naruto. \_(ツ)_/¯
Most of my card collections are things I love or feel nostalgic for, but am not active in the fandom of it.
Favorite things you can't make a colors deck of: Well I am a big fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. (Hawkeye <3) Also Star Trek. OMG I would mass deck the crap out of Star Trek. Original and JJ Abrams both. Also Dresden Files novels (noir urban fantasy people--try it!), Young Wizards, Harry Potter... if I didn't have such a time crunch, and the idea of maintaining more card posts wasn't prohibitive, I'd probably go hunting for TCGs that have more than anime!
Colors History I found out about online TCGs... somehow. I can't even remember. There was a One Piece specific one that was done via a website (all automated--be still my non-coding heart) and I think it had links to others. I joined last year in October, went on hiatus in February due to RL events (baby) and honestly wasn't sure I'd get to come back! But I did :D and got back on board this month. Whee!
Timezone EST (Montreal, -4 GMT)
Anything Else I think I did this part at the top :D

Re: Introes
Favourite Fandoms: Mostly video game fandoms; the only animanga series I'm currently following is Attack on Titan/Shingeki no Kyojin (though Simoun, Amatsuki, D.Gray-Man, Princess Tutu and Free! are among my favourites). For games: Ace Attorney, Legend of Zelda, Suikoden, Tales of, Zero Escape, Harvest Moon, Rune Factory, Fire Emblem (just started playing some of the older games)...
Favourite things you can't make a Colors deck of: Western video games! I know there are TCGs dedicated to video games in general, but they're just not the same and don't have the Colors atmosphere and friendliness. :(
Colors History: Joined in June of 2013. I was a game mod for a year and a half, up until earlier this year, but had to step down because we had our first child in May, so... doing things on a set schedule has basically gone out the window, haha.
Timezone: EST (Ontario, Canada).

Intro
Favorite fandoms: Pokemon, Spiral, Ace Attorney, Danganronpa, Higurashi, Madoka Magica. I'm usually totally behind of what's ongoing and popular right now. Or even 2 years ago...
Favorite things you can't make a Colors deck of: Disney and League of Legends~! And I have a long history with Discworld and Harry Potter too.
Colors history: Trias pretty much summed my history too, but I've been active the whole time. The first year I was in the Gray team, but since Trias was promoted to captain, I changed to the Blue team last year. I've had a blast each time and am sure we'll have fun this year too! ^_^
Timezone: Finland of Eastern Europe, +2 GMT.
Anything else?: I'm a bit slow writer, especially if the game requires any kind of creative work. And like Trias, I'm also opening my tradepile for all teammates, if any specific cards are needed!

Hmmmmmmmmmmm. Ah! Sailor Mercury, yo. Classic style!
My first colours league... ihavenoideawhatimdoing.jpeg. I hope I can be useful to the team! I won't be as active as I would want, but I'll do my best, everyone :3

Name: Bea
Favorite Fandoms: Battle B-daman is unfortunately quite obscure, but otherwise I'm into a lot of different things...? My fave things right now are Assassination Classroom and Magi: The Labyrinth of Magi, but I've also been a long time fan of stuff like Jojo, Koei's Warriors series, Final Fantasy and Shin Megami Tensei. Chances are though if I've seen something and liked it, I consider myself to be a fan of it.
Favorite things you can't make a Colors deck of: Same as Tonko - Star Trek. Well okay my specific Star Trek is Voyager. It's dear to my heart and I'd love to collect cards of the characters I grew up with.
That aside, there are so many other things I'd love to see Colors decks. Tons of western video games (Bastion and Transistor decks anyone?), things from books and movies I love (too many to count), and western comics as well (Lucifer comes to mind first tbh).
Then there's Transformers. Oh god, the mass deck I'd have if Transformers were a viable source for decks ( granted there's always using the Japanese series, but I'm not fond of them).
That said, decks of cartoon characters? Would rock so hard. And
Homestuckwebcomics decks wouldn't be too shabby either...Basically I want to collect everything I've ever liked.
Colors History: I just joined in June! I saw Colette tweeting about it, and linking to their then-trade post on their journal. I checked it out, saw little pixel cards being arranged neatly, asked them about it, and was hooked.
Timezone: GMT+8 haha rip eastern hemisphere
Anything else? Female pronouns for me ☆〜(ゝ。∂)
Also since I said "if I've seen something and liked it, I consider myself a fan of it" , I figure I might as well just link to this and this list of despair instead of writing about everything I'm into ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ So if I rated it 6 and higher, you can probably get some coherent words about it out of me.
By the way, I swear quite a bit, though I do keep that mostly to my plurk, which I am smoothly transitioning into a link to right here:
...And I am a wordy creature so if I get too rambly....like I did in this comment, please let me know ( ˘ ³ ˘ )⌒☆

Favourite Fandoms: You can check my mass deck tag for a rough idea of all the series I love. But in general sports animes are my life. My obsession started off with Prince of Tennis but has now spread to Kuroko no Basket, Haikyuu, Yowamushi Pedal, Hikaru no Go, Ookiku Furikabutte and Free!. I'm also a huge fan of the old Pokemon and Digimon series. I also have a strange relationship wit the Naurto fandom where I only vaguely follow the series but I love the characters. Other series I'm currently following: Kuroshitsuji, Shokugeki no Souma, Akagami no Shirayukihime
Favourite things you can't make a Colors deck of: Harry Potter would be my top of my favorite non-eligible fandoms. Other big ones are Avatar/Korra, How to Train Your Dragon & all things Disney
Colors History: I'm an old timer that's been in Colors since the very beginning. Spent the first 3 years as a mod but then real life got in the way and I almost burned myself out of TCGs all together so I retired from modding and I'm now enjoying being a regular player. I've also been Team Blue since the very first Colors League and I've loved how much the team has grown and changed. I can't wait to play with everyone this year.
Timezone: EDT, GMT-4 (I'll kinda be on vacation until the 9th but I'm going to have my phone and ipad with me and I've a habit to check DW every few hours anyway so my activity level probably won't change much overall.)
Anything else?: I'm another one with a wide open trading pile.
And I think I've friended everyone but just incase my plurk is:

Game 1 Volunteering
The five volunteers should therefore have 6 cards of their corresponding letter and in 1 of the other four their trade piles while the two others will need just one of N, I, T, R and O. (Remember - BOTH letters need to be the same in a trade so you need to respond with the same letter.)
All right, so. Volunteers? I can take the letter T unless someone wants/needs it more.

Game 2 Gathering
There are eight colors and seven of us, so everyone can pick a color and donate five cards from it with the eighth color going up for grabs, probably with the fastest people adding one at a time and if five people don't donate, then with a second round among those who did.
This way it's easier to keep score since we don't need to count how many of each color have been donated and probably helps us pass easier, but it also requires you to check every card since some deck colors can be pretty misleading.
So, I propose we do it like this. First off, we each donate in this thread once: 5 cards of the same color (or less, up to two, if you for any reason don't want to donate more - someone will definitely make up for the deficit so no worries there). Also, please mention whether you want to donate for the eighth color and/or do leftovers. Then someone else follows with a different color until we've done seven of them.
Would prefer Kat, Tonko and Bea, as the teammates with the smallest trade piles and therefore with probably less options from which to pick, to go first so they'll have more colors to pick from. (though me, and I think pretty much all of us with more cards, can certainly help if needed)
After that we go for an another round where we divide up the eighth color, whatever it may be, and any possible leftovers from the first seven if someone submitted less than five. Preferably about one of each at a time to make sure every willing person gets a turn, but if time starts running out you can submit absolutely everything that's missing.
Of course, if we complete this before that, we'll just submit it then and everyone's happy. Looking forward to hearing from you.
(also, as a pre-emptive note: I can both do and not do the eighth color and/or deficits but assuming most of you guys want more rewards so you can count me out of the running for those in advance unless we won't have enough people otherwise)
Re: Game 2 Gathering
Edit: I don't mind picking up some or all of the 8th color, though I also don't mind if someone with a more voluminous pile does it :P

Game 3
I think it would be easiest to go with the Interplanetary Ring, since then we can ignore all the rules about connecting pathways. We just have to make sure the person we're connecting to can easily get to his/her destination. And of course rotate our turns so everyone's able to finish their route.
I thought something like this might work. (rotating clockwise, so I'll start creating route to Melissa, Melissa to Moon, Moon to Bea and so on.)
Does everyone have the cards they need to get to their neighbor? If not, you can leave a comment here, and I'll try to drop a fitting card to your trade post as soon as possible. ^_^
I can start with the first move tomorrow. I could do it right away, but if someone disagrees with this idea, I don't want to use an unnecessary turn.
Re: Game 3
Edit: Actually, I'm reading over the rules again (though I might be misunderstanding something). Do we score more for more routes? In that case, the above would kind of lock the right side of my base into a completed route right away. I was just thinking that after we complete the Interplanetary Ring we could use any extra actions to make more routes...?

Of course it would have been even better, if the one missed point had been in the Gray team, but since it didn't happen, I think this is the next best option. It's just hard to challenge 100%, can't really help it. At least I honestly don't blame you for anything! You did awesome job, just as everyone else! I had a lot of fun this year too and would gladly have any of you in the same team next year!
So this is for you and every other member of the blue crew:
THANK YOU FOR THE FUN COLORS LEAGUE! <3
