i can totally understand why you like monogatari better - it's a lot more developed than ktgt is and a bit easier to digest, i think... BUT THAT SAID i'm glad!!! you think that about shichika.. he's definitely asexual and i LOVE IT..... HE'S A GOOD BOY

yeah most of them are not good in general really LOL BUT IT IS A LOT OF FUN. That was actually what I said to my friend, that it's Monogatari but just the talking parts, lmfao. That definitely was my main "issue", is I have such a garbage attention span from watching regular anime that I was like "THESE EPISODES ARE SO LOOOOOOONG" and I in general felt like there was some stuff I missed? But I think a lot of that was intentional, considering Togame's like twenty minute long monologue in the last episode, haha.

the art is soooo good though and Shichika is such a dumb he's my precious child honestly ALSO THEY NEVER SHOWED EMONZAEMON WITHOUT HIS MASK I WAS MAD I know that's such a nitpicky thing but I was waiting for it, man

a lot of them have a lot of problems, true, but i think thats what i like about them..... except bug squad. bug squad are pure and unproblematic.

that is often the issue, though, yeah. the hour long eps are to represent the monthly installments of the novel - which is why 8 has the weird art style, because there was a printer issue with the 8th issue and the lines came out thick and stylised! - but with such long episodes you do sometimes get a little overwhelmed. i've watched ktgt through about 6 times now and i still end up forgetting bits haha.

ktgt was actually supposed to have another series or a spin-off, afaik! the ktgt novels are pretty basic but maniwagatari goes into a lot more detail, which is a novel detailing the maniwa before ktgt canon... but it never got translated and the spin off never got animated.. weeps

emonzaemon's entire character is that he's poking fun at those characters who exist in stories literally to create mystery, with the lines he says like "i could tell you but there's no point" or "you'll find out eventually anyway" those characters are usually there for eventual exposition but he subverts it like a joke and ah.. tiny things like that are what i love about the narrative.. and about emonzaemon.. he's a big troll and i love it

through bits of translation and various theories i'm pretty sure emonzaemon's face is actually either scarred to heck or... not there... there's a lot of evidence pointing towards houou and emonzaemon being friends in their youth and toward houou stealing emonzaemon's face with his crazy stealy powers (which is why he has scarlet eyebrows) so it would probably be pretty gross if he ever did take his mask off.....

they were sweet honestly, I can't say bad things about them. But yeah people who don't have issues or some sort of quirks at least are usually boring, imo!

OH WAS IT see that's really neat, I know literally nothing about it outside of watching it except I did see that they were released monthly. Nisio Isin is insane honestly, I have no idea how he writes this shit so fast. Are they... translated somewhere... THAT SUCKS THOUGH I'd watch a spin off, his stuff makes for good anime, haha, I think there's like... over 70 episodes in Monogatari now, I know that, and actually my favorite part was episodes like... 48-53, LOL. MAKE MORE DAMMIT, MORE MANIWANI.

he's the worst honestly, in the best way. If I knew someone like him in real life I'd loathe them, LMFAO, but I went back and forth on basically every character while I was watching it, I really think that's sort of the point.
AND YEAH YEAH I did get that part, it's interesting because everyone looks 20 but it really like 65-500 or whatever garbage, it's such nonsense. XD I'm like Togame are you really 45 or something seriously what is even happening with you BUT I NEVER NOTICED HOUOU HAD SCARLET EYEBROWS so that would make sense, I honestly thought he just might have an endless void face which of course is ridiculous but... Nisio Isin...

fgdfgdsfg yeah, that's legit. there's no translations because the katanagatari fandom is TINY and mostly japanese/korean so... rip the westerners.

but yeah, there's a lot left unsaid and a lot inferred to or alluded to rather than actually explained which to me is like... fodder for headcanons, which i love, but i totally appreciate that to other people it can leave you feeling confused/lacking.

i'll never say its like, the best anime out there, but i think it's pretty and definitely worth watching. AND I'M GLAD YOU WATCHED IT <333
