The Many Facets of the Colors Universe

Hey guys, just a random idea I came up.

With all the fan art and fan fics flying around regarding the Colors Crew, we get a lot of different interpretations of how we think they behave and interact with each other. So what are your personal head canons for the Colors Universe? What traits/habits/actions do you envision the different characters to have that may not be expressly included in their (very) general description? I think it'd be fun to see just how similar and/or different our impressions of these guys turn out to be.

Go crazy with it! This is a chance for even those who don't draw or write to share their thoughts as well!

I can't get it out of my head that Akai-san likes cleaning.

Aoi-sama and Midorin like to bicker.

Mikan-tan and Kou-kun are kind of like the kids.

These were all things people wrote about. XD;;

stillarium had a SIMs family going on with them. I was looking to pics of Akia-san and.... Aoi-sama getting married, haha.

I never thought about hobbies/interests for anyone. Cleaning somehow matches him in an ironic sort of way.

Hmmm... I think Akai is the responsible/serious member. And for some reason I've always thought that he would have a love/hate relationship with Aoi. Red vs. Blue and all.

Aoi want's to think he's cool though the other members think he's a little over the top even if they love him anyway(kinda like Tamaki from Ouran).

Kou and Mikan are the youngest and are like brother and sister and are constantly bickering but if anyone else picks on the other they can be very protective.

For Tobi I've had something in mind for my submission but I think it would work for the official Tobi as well. He's the technical/engineering member of the group. He loves to fly and wants/has a pilot's license. Though his real love is hang-gliding since it's more free to open air.

see I always thought that Akai was the serious one of the bunch too, but I saw him having more of a mutual respect thing going with Aoi. Midorin is more then one he tends to get into it with.

Midorin, I see as fairly serious as well. She's the iron will of the group and anything she wants usually goes. And since she's still reasonable Akai will usually just go with it since he has his hands full moderating between Kou and Mikan and keeping everyone else together.

Well I suppose one of them has to be the responsible one. Akai-san seems the most fitting.

Agreed. Akai seems to be the most "normal", and thus the one to really keep everyone in check.

I kind of think Aoi-sama only gets along with Murasaki-dono, and he's kind of ':/' to the rest. I see it that Murasaki-dono helps Mikan-tan with learning stuffs and her and Midorin probably garden together.

Kou-kun wants to be friends with everyone but I bet him and Mikan-tan kind of conspire together, usually against Akai-san. He happens to be the most chillax of the group.

Tobi-han is easily excited.

somebody mentioned somewhere that Kou and Tobi should be brothers cause they were designed by the same person and I really like that idea. So I see their relationship as kinda like Kamina and Simon from Gurren Lagann with Tobi be rather excitable and encouraging to his younger bro and Kou being more reserved (and sometimes a lot more mature)

Midorin and Tobi are a troublemaker duo. In particular they like to go after Aoi. There has already been a fic written to this effect and it made me happy.

...I can't accurately compute any more.

When I write, I have the following head canon:

Location: Multi-room apartment in the middle of ???. I have no idea where I picture it being. The main door to the apartment is on the middle floor, and it enters into the main room which consists of couches in a U shape around a large, flatscreen TV. In the middle of the O formed by the couched and TV, there is a kotatsu for use by all who live there. At the back of the main floor is the kitchen, which connects to a balcony outside. Upstairs has the rooms for the boys, and downstairs has the rooms for the girls.

Akai: Lives in a room full of posters and musical memorabilia. Has a raised bed with a desk built in beneath it. Is an all-around easygoing fellow who fits in to almost any situation in existence. Nigh impossible for me to write for him.

Mikan: Lives in an insanely citrus filled room. Permanently infatuated with everything related to oranges. Always cheerful and often quite childish in nature. Determined to be a part of anything fun happening.

Kou: Lives in a room with all the latest technology. Very clean and quick to make effective plans. Is generally open to new experiences unless they prove to be offensive to him. Usually just as level-headed as Akai tends to be, though he has more attention to detail than Akai does.

Midorin: Lives in a near-punk styled room with green lights, green walls, green sheets, and green everything. Often tries new fashion trends and participates in things that others would feel are too radical. Does try to make others happy, but has particular reasons to dislike others for their "stuck up" behavior. She dislikes Aoi because of his high and mighty personality.

Aoi: Lives in a pristine bedroom with a four-poster bed and blue walls. Has a particular sense of superiority over the other residents of the household; with the exception of Murasaki. Views her with a great deal of respect due to her prim and proper appearance and behavior.

Murasaki: Lives in a rather simple, yet girly sort of room filled with purple. Has a private fascination with reading and writing stories both fiction and nonfiction. She likes being an anonymous writer; and is embarassed when she is found out to be the author of a tale. Has a slight crush on Aoi. Is sassy and very confident while in public, but is much more reserved at home.

Tobi: Lives in a brown room full of artifacts from adventures. Gold statues, coins, and various older model airplanes. Obsessed with the number 7, luck, and adventures. Absolutely loves to tell stories aloud, but rarely thinks them through.

It took a bit of thinking to actually put my head canon into words, though. But I did it!

I agree; but only if everyone agrees on what their home should be. D: Mine is kind of... plain. And simple.

Exactly why. I have a very, very hard time writing for him. I don't know why. I have almost as much challenge writing for Kou and Mikan.

Here's what I think about their personalities, etc.:

Akai-san: XD For some reason, I feel like he's the cook in the family, particularly breakfast. He's an early-riser and particular about cleanliness. I also love the idea Eri has about Akai-san being an Otomen (XD the deck's under his color too!). He doesn't show that side to anyone, maybe except for Mikan-tan, whom he dotes on a lot. :DDD He has a secret stash of plushies and cutesy stuff in his room.

Mikan-tan: The child of the group. Loves everything orange, the color and the fruit. Very energetic. Somewhat naive. Her first solution to anything involves oranges or Vitamin C. :) Always smiling and laughing. Plays with Akai and Kou most of the time.

Kou-kun: Younger brother of Tobi-han. Acts mature for his age most of the time, except for some moments with Mikan and Tobi. I like to think that he got his yellow cap from Tobi. He likes to gather information. Has a pet gerbil XD or some sort of cute rodent... He also likes to wonder why he and his brother are the only ones in the house with normal hair colors/why everyone has odd hair colors.

Midorin: She likes doing her own thing and will confront any conflict. Lover of nature. 0_0 She can communicate with flowers, forest spirits, and fairies! She likes to tell nonsense stories to Mikan-tan (who buys it) and Kou-kun (who usually doesn't). :'D Don't call her short. And she has fairly sensitive skin. She criticizes Aoi-sama, but secretly thinks he's so cool. Arranges flowers with Murasaki-dono. Oh, she's a vegan and an environmentalist (8D go green!).

Aoi-sama: Has a friendly rivalry relationship with Akai-san. A skilled swordsman. Has a white horse with blue tail that resembles his ponytail. Doesn't really like getting up in the morning or help with any of the household chores. Likes to play tricks on Mikan, Kou, and Midorin when they bother him, especially about his eyepatch. He doesn't respond if you don't add "-sama" when you're talking to him, unless you're Murasaki-dono. He doesn't use honorifics for anyone else besides her.

Murasaki-dono: Elegant in every way. Akai-san and Aoi-sama subtly show affections for her. Probably one of the reasons for Akai and Aoi's friendly rivalry. Her room is filled with flowers and is essentially a butterfly garden. She doesn't really show her anger, but if she snaps, she'll whack that person on the head with a paper fan and returns to her calm self in a blink of an eye. She can perform divinations.

Tobi-han: Kou-kun's older brother. He travels around the world on a plane and around the more local areas on his hang glider. He has a pet hawk named Toby that accompanies him on his journeys. His love for the number 7 made him travel around the world recently to the 7 New Wonder of the Worlds, so that's what he was doing before he returned to the Colors Universe's house/mansion. He gave Kou-kun the yellow newsboy cap, so that he could spot Kou when he's flying on the hang glider. He wonders why Kou-kun doesn't speak Kansai-ben like he does XD

Sidenote: Tobi's hawk gets along surprisingly well with Kou's rodent o_O defies the predator/prey relationship.

Pffft, yeah, a lot of these ideas are what I'd like to incorporate into 4-koma/fanart/fanfics.

When you were mentioning a pet for Kou-kun I was really hoping you'd say ferret...

Love that bit about that hat though. xD

XD After I posted this, I thought of a ferret for Kou-kun's pet!

I envision Tobi having a habit of stealing Kou's hat when he's not looking. Which kinda makes it funnier when he apparently gave him the hat in the first place. XD

I love the idea of Akai-san liking cutsey things. XDD

And, and! Tobi-han traveling to see the 7 Wonders of the World... that's so perfect.

Pet rodents and pet hawks, eeee, so cute!
