Donation Drop-Off: Any Interest?

This is actually something I've been thinking of doing for a while. The last three posts in the trading community prompted me to go ahead and ask everyone's opinion:
Would you like to have a page (much like Skie's Asobot Initiative) dedicated to unclaimed deck donations, where other users can claim to donate them?
Ordinary members can only donate two decks per month, and, on rare occasion, an additional normal deck or one special deck. (Deck makers can donate more, but must first meet a quota.) Unfortunately, for most of us, there are more than two decks we'd like to donate.
With a deck donation drop-off post, members would be able to post excess decks they've put together (like you would if you were donating a deck on the Color's post). I'd compile a list of unclaimed decks (sorted by series, color, or both) on LJ (along with my own site if there's enough decks), and other members who are not donating decks (or don't want to gather images) can claim decks they would like to donate. By claiming a deck, you keep the rewards for donating it, and you make somebody a very happy card collector. :3
Leave a comment and let me know your thoughts, opinions, questions, and suggestions!! ^^

I've also played with the idea of having a section for image round-up requests. I know there's a lot of characters out there that I would *love* to collect, but don't have the means to attain quality images for them. And, of course, there are others who simply don't have the time to gather 60 images every month, but would still like to see certain character decks.
Maybe I could put up a special reward for members who go out of their way to compile images? Hmm..

ETA: also, maybe your system could also allow for "wanted" decks? And "partially done" images?

I could also make a Photobucket account and open it to the members of Colors, and anyone could donate single images for requested decks. (This would work well for character decks where images are hard to find.) Once a character has 30 good images, it would be zipped and "delivered" to the person requesting it, or it would go to the "open donation" pile.
Thoughts?

Hmm, I guess having someone who is knowledgeable go through them to sort into possible fanart piles might be necessary as well, though if you're going that route.

Also, I'm kind of a script tard, so do enlighten me on this photo blog business. :3 Is it something I'd have to have a whole new site for, or can I just install it as a script to run as a separate page on a website? Either way, I'd probably have to discuss it with Rahenna.
Most fan art is pretty distinguishable, but yeah, I might need some help with series I'm not familiar with. :)

This would be a nice way to coordinate deck donations.

You were the one talking with me about WoW on chatzy, right?
If so, be my trading buddy! >:3

I totally say this needs to happen.
Super helpful... and it gets a lot more decks into the game because we all know that they're available!

You're the one that inspired me to try this out.
I'm glad Colors is such a open community that members can participate and help out in any way they'd like. You don't get that from other website-run TCGs. :)

You gots da wrong guy.
I agree, though. Nothing like feeling like part of the 'community' here than being accepted when posting new or interesting ideas. Everyone here is the nicest ever!

I think I'm pretty known for having a boat-ton of deck images ready.
I also like the Wanted section idea a lot. I would enjoy doing something like that personally, since all I've been doing now are collecting images for characters I like. I'd love to help other people get images for decks they want to see happen.

A wanted section would be great. Usually at the end of the month (for my extra decks), I make decks for needy colors, or to fill out the cast of a series some more, or I just take a stab at what players might like to see (that I like too). XD;
or I make decks for series I want more people to get intoWould be nice to see what people want to see!As for photobucket... in order to have different people upload to the same account... you'd need to give the account info to everyone? Unless photobucket has an option to allow other people to upload to it? I have no idea. =x I thought photobucket only allows whoever has the login info for the account to upload pics to it. It sounds like what you need is some gallery script that'll allow people to upload images to the gallery. I tried out a few gallery scripts (was hoping to revamp the graphics page) but haven't found one I like that does what I need it to do without being too bulky). There's a gallery script called...Gallery2 that should work. (I also tried out Piwigo... which was nice with the tagging, but it doesn't support .gif files very well). I haven't tried out zenphoto much, but that's another one. *is still trying to look for others*
File sharing sites might also work for single images? I believe some have the option of allowing different people to upload to them. (Some might even have gallery features? Depends on the file sharing site. There's one that did this that has closed down though. I don't know of any others at the moment).
This TCG also has a unique way of doing things. I am clueless about tumblr, so I don't know how that works.

And yeah, had I gone with Photobucket, I would have just shared the account name and password with anyone interested in donating images.
A lot of the unique decks you donate and collect actually look pretty interesting to me. A lot of them are on the list of series I need to check out someday. :3 If that makes you feel any better!

Ah, I see!
Haha, I'm glad to hear this. XD; I usually do pretty obscure series or characters for my own two donations every month. XD;

I'm seeing some people asking about how files could be shared and I think using tumblr, like Lucathia suggested, would be a great idea. People can submit whatever they want and whoever is in charge of it can approve it, and then they'd all be displayed on the tumblr~ It's also a good way to organize, since pictures can be tagged by series/character, and said tags are very easy to access *u*
