ohshi- It's that person again...
Okay so, of late, my friend Tress and I have been... uh, busy.
Today we present to you the reason for that. We both cordially invite those who have been considering the possibility of a PHP Card Manager, as well as those currently using one, to give
designtrace a shot!
We've put quite a bit of effort into making the manager itself more flexible than its base (Marfisa's Card Manager), and cater to several features specific to
colors_tcg as well as
credits_tcg (ok ok so they're similar in several regards).
Some things to note: we're looking for those who are familiar with PHP to help us with re-writing the database to make things even cooler/more flexible! Please reach out to us... we're begging here... it's a lot of coding to do alone, but as a team we can get more things done!
Also, for those who have been considering trying it, but may not have the means to do it, I'm going to offer a limited number of hostees off of my personal domain. You'll want to know CSS, or enough HTML to be dangerous to crash through learning CSS first though.Basically this will be a means of getting beta testers for us.
Therefore, without further ado, please click here for further information!

I have not had the chance to try Marfisa's version yet, so you could also get the input from a TCG Manager noob ;)
I'd need a host though ;)
I'm starting a lot of sentences with "I" today xD

My own unwieldy Colors post wouldn't be very great for the manager's current capability (lol, need more than two sections for one, and my trade rate on a normal basis definitely demands more than 10 slots), however I'm sure for someone who is newer such as yourself (especially after looking at your current post), this might work out pretty well for you~~
I can install everything for you and PM you the information as well as give you FTP access to your directory, of course.
Would you like all your username information for all of it to be based off your name for Colors (Origami), or something else?
no subject
Even with more than 10 card a trade, you could simply split it up for the manager, no? ö.ö
Setting everything up for me would be great :D
And Origami is fine! Saves me the trouble of deciding between Circus and Universe xD
Should I link to your card collection for the images? Cause it seems kinda unnecessary to upload all the cards again if they are surely already saved somewhere on your domain (=∩_∩=)
Of course I'd still upload signatures etc. myself.
I look forward to working with you ヽ(*゜▽゜*)ノ♡

Also, I just cobbled this card list generator (http://sempai-net.com/tcg/tress/Card%20Names%20Generator.php) together. Since you have an existing card page already, if you copy and paste in lists of <img src>, it will reduce them to just the card names so you can paste it into your futures and trading fields. (It will make more sense once you have a chance to see the how the manager works!)
Let me know if that page doesn't work for you as expected! (Or anything else of course.)

I try not to have too many things in my pending section anyway, so it shouldn't become a problem (hopefully).
The generator works properly for me, it takes the names and lists them divided by a comma. I'm using Opera by the way.
Not sure if it's wanted to add a comma after the last card though?
And will the manager generate proper width, height, alt and title attributes?
In the end I want my code to look like this
If that's not what you want I'll change it only for myself ^^

Will take a proper look at it tomorrow, nearing 10pm now and I have to get up early to walk my doggies before work ;P
Taking a sneak peek now though ♥

I understand that this is what I currently do with the empty 00 cards of each deck? How would I set that up then though, as the name always changes depending on the deck @.@
And the description for "Special filler" and "Other filler" are the same ;)

That's good to know, though I hope this won't make me too lazy, you usually don't get that great a service in real life xD

Also, can mastered decks be displayed at the moment? I was hoping there'd be a TCG manager that would display mastered decks, but I think players using Marfisa's Card Manager were just expected to display mastery badges (while the mastered decks themselves were just gone. I think some people just link to where the deck is on the official TCG itself, or they just don't link anything?). I'd love it if there's some sort of field for inputting mastered decks that would make it so that the mastered decks are displayed (with subtitles for date of mastery?). That's a feature I'd love to have~.

I certainly know what you mean about not having the mastered cards anywhere on current card managers, only mastery badges :( However, I think that's probably a space issue on the card page itself.
But are you asking for a separate page you can link to where it would show the whole deck, and the date of mastery underneath the deckname? (Like in mastery.php you could link to in your tcg.php.) I don't think there's an easy way to do that with the current database. The idea is simple enough, but there just aren't any cells to input the data.
I think I will certainly put this idea on the list for things to include
ifwhen we rewrite the database for the manager. How would the mastered decks be ordered? Date? Series? Deckname? The user gets to choose? Would it have to be paginated after you mastered x amount of decks? lol (I wonder if putting together your own mastered HTML pages, uploading to your own host, and linking to them wouldn't be easier at that point but it's worth a shot!)A-also, it's probably better right now to just not mention it until I have more concrete news, but I want to apologize for falling off the face of the earth on the Colors decks database x.x A bout of slow communication between me and the other programmer, and then with him starting a new job and me starting school...
Working on this has certainly revived my motivation to get hacking on that though, especially since we were already so close to finishing...! (Even though he did basically restart the project so it had a more sound coding basis haha.)

Hm, yeah, I'm thinking of a separate page we can link to that would display the whole deck (whether it's one big page, or paginated pages). It would be nice to be able to have them ordered depending on how the player wants to order them. I order by date mastered, but I've seen people order by series as well.
I'm still looking forward to a possible decks database! I noticed that the deckpage takes a bit to load for me now. I'm not sure if it's doing the same for other people. I hope not! But I think it will be good to be able to paginate the deck page (by series, maybe?) and have a view all option for people who are able to load that...

However! Bringing up the discussion on those kind of divisions, you CAN manipulate the system we set up in this release because we have the collecting section split by "type."
Right now, each of the 6 types (regular, regular-puzzle, special, special-puzzle, other, other-puzzle) is separated into a div in your Currents, so you if you want two decks to appear next to each other, you could just make them the same "type." You wouldn't even have to put them in consecutive decks on the update page - as long as they are the same type they will appear together.
The only distinction between puzzle and non-puzzle is the margin between cards (before it was a hard space caused by a newline) which can be set in your style.css to be the same. Since Colors also doesn't have puzzle decks and only has one card value, you have all 6 divs at your disposal to order decks together!
This release also allows individual deck subtitles, but doesn't have something you can name title those 6 divs by. However, if people are interested... (I could at least hack a single person's tcg.php to allow that, in a similar method to the deck subtitles option of the current release, if there's not enough interest to put it in the general release).
The other thing we can't do right now is do the alternating cards I often see for paired decks.
The mastered page will require more planning and is low priority at the moment, but I'm glad you brought it up because I hadn't thought about that.
I'm lucky to be back at school with very fast internet so I can't tell if the cardlist takes longer to load, but I will bring up pagination with Uchi! Thank you for the suggestion on that as well.

You can actually already do this with Mandi's Card Manager. :) Here's (http://phibbu.awardspace.com/co/colors.php?page=5) my mastered page for Colors. If you click on any of the badges, you'll be taken to a new page that displays the full deck. You can order the decks any way you want; I usually just do them alphabetically, but for Colors I'm ordering them by, uh, color, lol.
This (http://scripts.enchanted-rose.net/cm/download/config.txt) is the config.php file you edit to control how your cards are displayed. In the mastered section, each deck is listed on its own line with its individual information (deck name, amount of cards, card worth, etc.). The decks are listed on your mastered page in the same order they're listed here. So in this default one, the Dumbledore deck would be first, then Snape. If you wanted to reverse it, you'd just cut/paste the Snape line above Dumbledore's. Pretty easy to change, eh?
The only thing it doesn't have is a way to display the date you mastered the deck. Looking at the code, though, you could probably add a variable on the config page for date, then add the correct code to the cardmanager file so it would display. I don't know nearly enough PHP to do that, though! Unfortunately Mandi has been MIA for years so this script isn't being updated at all. One of these days I may have to learn some PHP and see about updating it.

I haven't tried out Mandi's Card Manager before, but is it like Marfisa's where you upload all of the cards at once (I like this!), or do you separate them into folders for the sections you want? (collecting, trading, etc).

I wonder would it be possible to add a double-decking/mass-decking feature as well
no subject
Thanks for upvoting the interest on a mass-decking, though. Perhaps we should start looking into it.
By the way, we were looking at your page earlier today because I remembered you use Marfisa's. Wahh, your use of the on hold section (for game cards, single saving cards, etc.) is brilliant! Although I think we've kind of broken it for you to do it that way any longer with this release... :( Perhaps we should have consulted your page before we hacked so much into it heh.
