hi colors ! today is the mid autumn festival so im giving out mooncakes with gifts inside!

a traditional chinese folktale is that mooncakes were used to smuggle secret messages during the yuan dynasty for chinese rebels to plan the overthrow of the mongols! instead of hidden messages, these mooncakes contain either 2 random crayons or 5 randoms cards from my trade pile!

traditional mooncake:
baked with a thick, tender pastry skin enveloping a sweet, dense filling - the filling is usually made of lotus paste and you'll find a half/whole salted egg yolks in the center (which symbolises the full moon)

snowskin mooncake:
more modern rendition more like a dessert! the skin is made of a chewy, mochi-like glutinous rice, and the filling could be ice cream, green tea, red bean... or more wacky flavours, and these are served cold
